NDRRMC: 5-year-old missing in CDO floods

A five-year-old girl was reported missing in the wake of flash floods that hit a village in Cagayan de Oro City over the weekend. In a report posted on its website early Monday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council identified the girl as a certain Angel Inso, 5. The NDRRMC said Inso was "accidentally swept by heavy current while passing through a wooden bridge with her mother." According to the NDRRMC, the flash flood stemmed from continuous heavy downpour spawned by a local thunderstorm at 9:15 p.m. Saturday. It hit Sitio Bantiles in Bugo village in Cagayan de Oro City. The Office of the Civil Defense Region 10 and teams from the local village have proceeded to the area, while the Coast Guard Northern Mindanao joined search-and-rescue efforts. — RSJ, GMA News
