PHL pastries a hit in int'l bazaar in Sri Lanka

Philippine pastries and delicacies were a hit at the recently concluded Colombo Plan International Bazaar in Sri Lanka, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday. “Members of the Philippine Ladies Association in Sri Lanka had prepared Filipino pastries and delicacies that turned out to be very popular with the bazaar crowd," the DFA said in a statement. The DFA said the success prompted the Colombo Plan Secretariat to relay its thanks to the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh for its support. In a note to the embassy, the Colombo Plan conveyed “its great gratitude and deep appreciation of the valuable contribution for the Colombo Plan International Bazaar," which was held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Colombo Plan. During the bazaar, Philippine Ambassador Bahnarim Guinomla visited the Philippine booth with Colombo Plan Secretary General Dato’ Patricia Yoon-Moi Chia to greet and thank the Filipinos for their participation.
