By Thursday afternoon it is expected to be 490 km northwest of Basco, Batanes. PAGASA said Catanduanes may experience winds of 45 to 60 kph within the next 36 hours. It advised residents in low-lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides. PAGASA also said "Juaning" will continue to bring rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Western Mindanao becoming widespread in Bicol region and Samar area. Meanwhile, PAGASA warned of strong to gale-force winds that may affect the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas. "Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. — RSJ/KBK, GMA News
