Classes in more areas in Southern Luzon suspended

Classes in more areas in Southern Luzon — Cavite province including Cavite City — were suspended on Tuesday due to heavy rain and strong winds brought by tropical storm "Juaning." Department of Education (DepEd) Southern Luzon director Lorna Dino said in an interview over radio dzBB "Public and private po, kaninang umaga pa po hanggang hapon." Earlier, the DepEd suspended classes in some areas in Southern Luzon, including Lipa City in Batangas and San Pablo City in Laguna. The DepEd has jurisdiction over kindergarten, elementary and high school. Classes are automatically suspended in kindergarten under Signal No. 1 while classes up to high school are automatically suspended under Signal No. 2. Meanwhile, the DepEd also suspended afternoon classes in Metro Manila. - VVP,GMA News
