LTFRB suspends franchise of bus that fell from Skyway

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) suspended for one month the franchise of a bus that fell from the Skyway in southern Metro Manila before noon on Tuesday. LTFRB board member lawyer Manuel Iway said this was standard operating procedure for incidents involving public utility vehicles (PUV), radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported. Iway said the procedure is especially true for incidents involving casualties. He added that the bus firm will be made to show why its franchise should not be canceled over the incident. The franchise of the "Dimple Star" bus firm was suspended after the driver was killed and at least two passengers were injured on Monday. The initial investigation showed the bus with body number 7511 was heading from Lawton in Manila to Alabang when it fell from the Skyway. - VVP, GMA News
