Senate, House suspend sessions due to 'Juaning'

Due to continuous rain from Tropical Storm Juaning (Nock-Ten), both chambers of the Philippine Congress decided to suspend sessions on Wednesday. A report on radio dzBB said the Senate and the House of representatives called off their sessions as Storm Juaning was forecast to make landfall twice over Luzon Wednesday. Nineteen areas, including Metro Manila, were placed under Storm Signal No. 2. State weather forecasters said the National Capital Region can expect a 25-mm per hour rain volume Wednesday morning or 40 percent of Storm Ondoy's rain in September 2009 that brought widespread floods in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. — LBG, GMA News
