Storm Juaning makes landfall over Aurora province

Tropical Storm Juaning (Nock-Ten) made landfall at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Casiguran, Aurora, state weather forecasters said. In an interview on GMA News TV's "News To Go," Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Sonny Pajarilla also said that as of 9:30 a.m., Juaning intensified with maximum sustained winds at 95 kph near the center from 80 kph Tuesday night.

Juaning is moving northward at 15 kph, Pajarilla said, adding that should the storm continue its west northwest direction, it will move toward Isabela province. Also, he said the western side of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience heavy rains possibly until Thursday as Juaning crosses the Sierra Madre Mountain range as it moves west-northwest. — LBG, GMA News
