Classes resume in NCR, still suspended in Albay – DepEd
Classes in public and private schools in Metro Manila are to resume Thursday, the Department of Education said. But the DepEd said kinder to Grade II classes at Tonsuya Elementary School in Malabon City remain suspended as parts of the school are still flooded. "Nais namin ipaalam may pasok sa NCR ngayong araw. Preschool elementary at high school, both public and private," assistant regional director for Metro Manila Rizalino Rosales said in a 4 a.m. interview on dzBB radio. "May tubig pa ang school grounds sa Tonsuya Elementary School and classes may not resume yet," he said. A separate report by radio dzBB's Allan Gatus said students of Tonsuya Elementary School started trooping to school before 6 a.m. The report said floods near the school can reach up to knee level, although the school's classrooms for Grade III to VI are on the second floor. Classes in provinces Meanwhile, classes in Albay province in Bicol and in Rosario town in Cavite remain suspended for Thursday in the wake of Tropical Storm Juaning (Nock-Ten). "Region 5 provinces except Albay will resume classes (Thursday), July 28. Classes in kinder, elementary and high school will remain suspended only in Albay," the Department of Education said on its Twitter account.
