PHL consulate in NY extends deadline for summer film fest

New York-based Filipino short-film makers have until Aug. 5 to submit their entries to a summer film festival backed by the Philippine Consulate General in New York. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement the film festival seeks to generate interest from “dynamic and young" filmmakers who have been making headway in this industry. The Filipino independent short-film festival “Sinehan sa Summer: Shorts" will be held from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, the DFA said. The consulate general urged independent Filipino short-film makers to participate in this event and to showcase their talents.
