Pinoys in top 5 of world hip hop dance tilt in Las Vegas


Filipinos landed in the top five dance teams in the tenth World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Las Vegas in the United States. According to the House of Crews, the Filipino dance team "Philippine All Stars" placed second in the top 30 dance crews that are moving on to the semifinal round of the competition. A tweet of the House of Crews on Friday (Manila time) said, "EVERYONE in the audience just stood up for the Philippine All Stars!" Plague (UK)" World's top street dancers Hip Hop International (HHI) said over 2,000 of the world's top street dancers are in Las Vegas for the 2011 World Hip Hop Dance Championship from July 26 to 31. "Crews from 35 nations will compete to capture the world title and international bragging rights while hip hop icons, artists and celebrities will be there too for all the fun and excitement," HHI said on its website. HHI said some of the participating countries are: Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, and Uruguay. The six-day event schedule includes panel discussions featuring respected living legends and icons of hip hop dance, HHI said.
