French president's website hacked

For a few hours this week, hackers turned the French presidency into a game by attacking President Nicolas Sarkozy's official Elysee Palace website and uploading a video game where players can get him out of the palace. Called "Get Him Out," the game pictured Sarkozy on a go-kart heading towards the gates of the palace, UK's The Telegraph reported. The report said that the game featuring a cartoon image of the French leader was placed under the formal banner introducing the site. Visitors were instructed to click on a Facebook 'like' button beside the game to bring the French leader moved one step closer out into the street. "The more you click, the faster we can get little Nicolas out!" the instruction read. According to The Telegraph, the Elysee palace confirmed a hack took place Tuesday night, but added the problem had been fixed by 7 a.m. on Wednesday. "The hackers took advantage of an old software system to temporarily re-route the welcome page," it quoted a spokesperson as saying. — TJD, GMA News
