Malacañang exec: Pantawid Pasada cards usable again

After problems with computer systems, the government’s “Pantawid Pasada" program to help public utility vehicle drivers cope with rising fuel prices is back on track, Malacañang said Saturday. “The temporary unavailability is over. As of 6 a.m. Saturday, our drivers can use the Pantawid Pasada cards again," deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said over government-run dzRB radio. She said the cards were briefly unusable because of a problem in data migration systems. She did not elaborate. “There was an earlier glitch the Energy Department had to fix. After that, the use of the cards resumed," Valte said. Earlier this year, the government issued the “Pantawid Pasada" cards to public utility vehicle drivers to help them cope with rising costs of fuel. The cards have a “subsidy" of P1,100. — JE, GMA News
