Police: 3 dead, 1 hurt in Negros hacking incident


Three people were killed while a four-year-old girl was injured in a hacking incident in Negros Oriental on Friday morning, a police spokesman said Sunday. A group of four men hacked the three victims to death in Barangay Cancawas in San Jose town at 4 a.m., Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said in a text message, quoting a police report. Cruz identified the fatalities as Ronnie Gerodias, 24; Sheryll Ramirez, 18; and Jury Ramirez, 17. Another victim, identified as four-year-old Claudine Ramirez, is currently being treated at a hospital in Negros Oriental after she sustained injuries from the incident, he added. The PNP spokesperson said the suspects, two of which were identified as Jufil Ramirez Salaquin and Rico Bayo Suelto, were still being pursued by police as of posting time.
