Village official, 1 other killed in Bukidnon shooting incident

Two people, including a village councilman, were killed in a shooting incident allegedly perpetrated by a notorious crime group in Bukidnon province on Sunday morning, police said. Councilman Engracio Cabido and another civilian identified as Bing Bing Janioso were shot to death by members of the Lundahan Group in Barangay Balintag in Baungon town at 8:20 a.m., a report from the Region 10 police office said. Three other unidentified civilians were hurt due to the shooting incident, the report added. The report likewise said that a land dispute may have been the motive of the shooting. Members of the organized crime group identified as Ekid and Dencio Lundahan are currently being pursued by authorities for their alleged involvement in the shooting, it added. — Andreo C.
