Anti-hijacking drill staged in airplane hangar in Pasay

Authorities on Monday held an anti-hijacking drill at an airline hangar in Pasay City to prepare against possible plane hijacks. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that the exercise was held at an airline hangar along Andrews Avenue near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City. Participating operatives started the drill at 8:30 a.m., the report said. The report said the drill simulated a passenger plane from Cotabato City being hijacked and landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2. It said the organizers of the exercise named the fictitious hijacker as "Nadal Mampatuan," an apparent play on the name of a prominent member of the Ampatuan clan linked to the 2009 Maguindanao massacre. - VVP, GMA News
