DPWH issues traffic advisory for typhoon-hit Bicol region

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) issued a travel advisory for the Bicol region on Monday after days of rains caused floods and landslides in the area, leaving some roads impassable. In an advisory issued at 8:00 a.m. on August 1, the DPWH said San Fernando Bridge in Sto. Domingo, Albay is not passable and needs replacement. Detour is San Andres Barangay Road-Sto. Domingo Road. Nagas Bridge in Tiwi, Albay is passable to motorcycles only, the DPWH said. Nabua-Balatan Road is also passable to motorcycles only because of another landslide on Saturday, the DPWH added. The DPWH said "Tobgon Bridge along Ligao-Tabaco Road is not passable due to washed out abutment protection. The detour road is Nasisi-Polangui Provincial Road." "Clearing of all affected sections delayed due to heavy rainfall. Barricades, informative signs are installed on affected areas. Traffic safety officers also manned the flow of traffic," the DPWH added. All other roads in Region 5 are passable although clearing operations are being done. - VVP, GMA News
