NDRRMC: Damage to property by 'Kabayan' worth P2.5M


Aside from leaving at least four people dead, Typhoon Kabayan (Muifa) caused at least P2.5 million in damage to property, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Monday. In its 1 p.m. update, the NDRRMC said the amount includes P500,000 in private property in Maribojoc town in Bohol province. Maribojoc was the site of a landslide last Sunday that killed two children and injured at least four other people. Aside from the P500,000 damage, the NDRRMC also recorded P2 million in damages in Southern Luzon. It added that the Magsupot RCDG Bridge (K0082+769, Tablas Circumferencial Road, Catagonsao, Alcantara - Bridge Approach “A" was washed out due to the recurrence of flash floods and was impassable Monday. The NDRRMC said the death toll from Kabayan remained at four, with five injured. At least 642 families or 3,158 people were affected in eight villages in four towns and one city n Bulacan province. — RSJ, GMA News
