PAGASA: Rains to last until Wednesday
The rain that caused flooding in parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces may last until Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. PAGASA forecaster Raymond Ordinario said the rain is from the southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoon "Kabayan" (international name: Muifa). "Inaasahan natin based sa data na hawak natin, may inaasahan na pag-ulan hanggang bukas," he said in an interview over dzBB radio. Heavy rain since Monday night flooded several parts of Metro Manila, prompting Malacañang to suspend classes in schools and work in government offices. Traffic in parts of Manila slowed to a crawl due to floods in major streets. - VVP, GMA News
