MMDA website down at height of rain, flood woes

Just when motorists and commuters needed it most, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's (MMDA's) website of Internet-based traffic navigation suddenly and inexplicably went offline. The MMDA said it is looking into why its website, www.mmda.gov.ph, went down since early Tuesday afternoon. "We are checking with our provider why our website mmda.gov.ph is down. The Navigator can still be accessed via mmdatraffic.InterAksyon.com," it said in its Twitter account. Since early afternoon, the MMDA website had been inaccessible, with visitors getting an error message. "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later," the error message read. The MMDA launched the Internet-based traffic navigator system just last month, promising commuters and motorists the ability to view real-time traffic updates. The site was still down as of 6:45pm. — TJD, GMA News
