DepEd: Muntinlupa, Taal suspend afternoon classes

Afternoon classes in Muntinlupa City and in Taal, Batangas were ordered suspended due to heavy rain, the Department of Education (DepEd) said Wednesday. On its Twitter account, the DepEd said the local governments of Muntinlupa and Taal cited the inclement weather in their decision. "Muntinlupa: Upon consultation with the office of Mayor Aldrin San Pedro, afternoon classes are suspended due to heavy rains," it said. Similarly, it said the Taal mayor's office "declared suspension of classes in the afternoon due to heavy rains being experienced at the moment." Earlier, classes in San Carlos City in Pangasinan were suspended also due to the heavy rain. Similarly suspended were classes in Rosario town in Cavite. Classes in several areas in Luzon, including Metro Manila, had been suspended Tuesday due to heavy rain. However, classes resumed in Metro Manila and most parts of Central and Southern Luzon Wednesday. - VVP, GMA News
