Improved Google+ Android app released

Users of smartphones and devices running Google’s Android operating system can now expect a better experience from the search giant’s upcoming social network with a new Google+ app. The app’s latest version – 1.0.5 – contains several improvements from the reliability of notifications to the flexibility of huddles while inside the social network. Among the more notable improvements are accuracy and refresh improvements, and “___ added you to Google+" notifications in bulk, Google said. With the new version, one can also share stream posts to individual people, and the stream no longer resets to top when the device’s screen is rotated. Clicking a +mention takes one to the person’s profile. One can start a one-on-one huddle from a person’s profile, or a group huddle from a circle profile; while one-on-one huddles can be hidden. Those leaving a huddle will be asked “Are you sure you want to leave?" before they exit. The new app also has improved autocomplete (people/contacts) when adding a person to a huddle, while re-shared posts show the correct profile photo. — TJD, GMA News
