Pinoy in Los Angeles nabbed for sexually molesting own kin

A 51-year-old Filipino is now under the custody of police in Los Angeles in California after sexually molesting an underaged member of his own family. Last week, San Leandro police detectives arrested the Filipino, after his 20-year-old niece had claimed she was molested by her uncle for over one year in 2003, when she was 12. The man was arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court in Hayward last July 27, involving four counts of performing lewd acts with children, the Asian Journal reported. Detectives also discovered the suspect had molested three other family members whose ages ranged from 4 to 12, also in 2003, the report added. The police withheld the man’s name as they are still investigating if the suspect had other victims. Investigation showed that authorities learned of the abuse after the 20-year-old woman told police about the incident. Following coordination between San Leandro detectives and Immigration Department in San Francisco, US Customs and Border Protection officers arrested the suspect at San Francisco International Airport. “This was an involved case in which detectives had to act quickly and diligently. It involved the coordination of a lot of law enforcement resources to bring a person who preyed and victimized children into custody," said San Leandro police Lieutenant Jeff Tudor. — JE, GMA News
