Weather: Flash floods, landslides threaten C. Luzon, Minda

Flash floods and landslides continue to threaten the western sections of Central Luzon and Mindanao, the state weather agency said Saturday afternoon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), in its 5 p.m. bulletin, also said the southwest monsoon is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The rest of the country will have “partly cloudy to cloudy" skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau. Meanwhile, “moderate to strong" winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas, and the coastal waters along these areas will be “moderate to rough," PAGASA said. Elsewhere, winds will be “light to moderate" coming from the south to southwest, according to PAGASA. Meanwhile, “strong to gale-force" winds are expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas. “Fishing boats and other small sea crafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. — JE, GMA News
