Police: 2 killed in computer shop shooting in Manila

Two people were killed in a shooting incident inside a computer shop in Manila’s Sampaloc district before dawn Monday. Police are now looking for the gunman, who declared a “holdup" before shooting the two victims. A report by radio dzBB’s Carlo Mateo said the incident occurred at a computer shop near the corner of Fajardo and Cristobal Streets in Sampaloc. Sketchy initial reports showed the gunman entered the computer shop where the victims were playing network games. He supposedly sat near the victims and shouted “holdup" before shooting the two, hitting them in the head and body. The two were rushed to the nearby University of Santo Tomas Hospital but were declared dead on arrival there. "Sigaw lang ng ‘holdup’ at ang dalawa ang target. Walang kinuha sa tao sa loob ng computer shop (The gunman just shouted ‘Holdup’ and shot the two. He did not get anything from the other customers)," said a police officer working on the case. Making matters worse for police was that the shop had no closed-circuit television system to help identify the attacker, the dzBB report said. — RSJ, GMA News
