Adobe Flash update addresses OSX Lion settings woes

Despite Apple Inc.’s seemingly not-so-friendly attitude towards it, Adobe has updated its Flash software to work with Apple’s latest operating system Mac OS X Lion. Adobe’s update addresses the unresponsiveness of Flash settings, which would allow users to adjust settings for managing hardware like webcams and microphones, under Lion. Tech site CNET reported that before the update, a user cannot change settings using the mouse, and had to use the Tab button to select an element, and use the spacebar to activate it. Aside from addressing the problem, the Adobe update also patches 13 security holes including buffer overflows and memory corruption in the handling of media. The updated version of Flash player can be downloaded as version 10.3.183.5, in a 6.08-MB file. But CNET noted the Flash player is Intel-only, and should install and run on any Intel-based Mac system. — TJD, GMA News
