Elderly woman killed, 15 others hurt in Negros Occ road collision

A 68-year-old woman was killed while 15 others were hurt in a vehicular accident in Negros Occidental on Friday morning. In a text message to reporters, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the incident occurred when a Ceres Bus (plate number FWR 338) hit a multicab (JDK 402) at Sitio Lawagon in Barangay West in Candoni town at about 7:45 a.m. Sixteen people on board the Multi Cab emerged hurt and were rushed to a nearby hospital. However, one of them, Esperanza Lausa, 68, was declared dead on arrival, Cruz said. Both vehicles were taken into custody by the Candoni municipal police. Bus driver Nemisio Dacumus, likewise, surrendered to authorities. Police said the bus is owned by Vallacar Transit Inc, while the multi cab is owned and driven by Randy Dollosa. — Mark Merueñas/RSJ, GMA News
