Twitter quietly adds new reply feature

Micro-blogging site Twitter has silently added a new feature that allows users to tweet someone from the latter's own Twitter page. Twitter co-founder and executive chairman Jack Dorsey confirmed the feature when a user tweeted him about it Friday. "As ot today!" he said, when asked by "Jeevan Gill" (@jSammy17) since when someone can "go to someone's page and tweet them from there." "That's an insignifciant addition, but still welcome," Gill said of the feature. A separate article on tech site ReadWriteWeb said the feature takes the form of a prompt to post a public reply to any user whose profile page one visits. "It's a small but logical step to take and one that makes the interface all the more supportive of social interaction," it said. It added this was the latest added feature to Twitter in one week.
