PAGASA: Expect rain over Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms loom over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the weather pattern is due to an Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting those areas. "Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms while the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening," it said. It also said light to moderate winds blowing from the Southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the South to Southeast over Mindanao. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added. Meanwhile, PAGASA's extended weather outlook indicated mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms in Metro Manila on Monday. However, it said Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms from Tuesday to Thursday. — LBG, GMA News
