Weather: Rain in Luzon, Visayas; heavy rain in Cavite, Laguna

Heavy rain looms over parts of Cavite and Laguna provinces while scattered rain showers are expected over parts of Central and southern Luzon and Visayas in the next 24 hours, state weather forecasters said Monday afternoon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said this is due to an inter-tropical convergence zone affecting Central and southern Luzon and Visayas. "Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening," it said in its 5 p.m. bulletin. It added light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over northern Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. Meanwhile, PAGASA said heavy rain looms over Trece Martires in Cavite and Lumban in Laguna, both in Southern Luzon. — KBK, GMA News
