Weather: Cloudy skies, rain loom over parts of PHL

Cloudy skies, rain showers and thunderstorms loom over parts of the country Tuesday due to an inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ), state weather forecasters said. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the ITCZ is affecting Central and Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. "Wala tayong nakikitang sama ng panahon o low-pressure area. Ang nakakaapekto sa Central at Southern Luzon, at sa Visayas at Mindanao, ay ang ITCZ (We do not see any weather disturbance or low-pressure area now. What is affecting Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao is the ITCZ)," PAGASA forecaster Connie Dadivas said in an interview on dzBB radio early Tuesday. She said this will mean rain showers and thunderstorms along with cloudy skies in Metro Manila. The temperature range for Metro Manila for the day is from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, she added. Meanwhile, PAGASA said Central and Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. It added that the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over northern Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. — RSJ, GMA News
