PAGASA: Rain on parts of NCR from thunderstorm

The rain showers that fell on parts of Metro Manila Wednesday noon are due to a thunderstorm, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. In its Twitter account, PAGASA said the thunderstorm passed over Manila, Antipolo, and towards the Camanava (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) areas. PAGASA said the thunderstorm passed through areas including Taguig City, Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig and Pateros, and Manila. In Quezon City, it noted the rain was "moderate to heavy" at 6 to 15 mm per hour. On the other hand, PAGASA's website indicated there is still no cyclone in Philippine territory. Earlier Wednesday, PAGASA said the inter-tropical convergence zone may bring rain to parts of the country, particularly on Visayas, Mindanao and the western section of Southern Luzon. — LBG, GMA News
