Paris Hilton on the Philippines: 'I love it!'

Although more than an hour late for her Wednesday press conference at the Manila Peninsula, Paris Hilton was more than ready to talk about her career and newest business venture, a beach resort residence complex in the middle of Metro Manila. She was also generous with her compliments—a few days ago, she tweeted about loving Filipino food and on Wednesday, praised the media, beaches and women of the Philippines. She “loves it," as her newest tag line goes. The 30-year-old heiress, former reality star, socialite and business woman is in the Philippines for five days for a partnership with Century Properties. Real estate legacy Paris, who comes from the hotelier Hilton family, will be the official ambassador for the company. “Deciding to work with her was the logical choice as we found no other personality more suited to embody the upscale fashionable beachgoer," said Robbie Antonio, managing director of Century Properties. Hilton added that even before sealing the deal with Century Properties, the beach lifestyle was always something that she enjoyed. “It’s something that I love to do… and I think something like that in the Philippines would just be wonderful," she said.

Hours before the press conference, the blonde stunner announced that she was at a meeting for the property beach club that she will be designing for Century. Hilton’s frequent trips to different beaches around the world were also a reason why the company picked her to be a partner for the project. “With her exposure to the best beaches around the world, coupled with her fun and sensible fashion sense, we believe that we’ve made the right choice," added Antonio. Hilton said that a few days ago, her grandfather Barron Hilton had called to say that he was proud of her latest real estate venture. “Real estate is really our family’s thing," she said. The heiress’ soft side Hilton was in for a surprise during the press conference. Unbeknownst to her, Century had arranged for her "number one fan" in the Philippines, 20-year-old Isha Dinio, to be at the press conference too. “Noong August 2, nagising na lang po ako. Bigla kasi nag-tweet siya sa akin [to say] that she was coming to the Philippines," Dinio told GMA News Online. Dinio said she has been a fan of Hilton for ten years now, and that she has been an inspiration to her. The moment she stepped on stage to finally meet her idol, Dinio broke into tears. “Naiyak po ako kasi she told me, ‘I’ve been wanting to see you since day one’," Dinio said. After hugging her fan on stage, the heiress gave Dinio a Paris Hilton bag. On Thursday, Hilton’s last day in the country, she will be at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong to open her fourth store in the country. Dinio said that she will also be there during the meet-and-greet session. Hilton had even sent a direct message to her on Twitter to ask for her mobile phone number, Dinio said. After the press conference, Dinio and other Hilton fans posed for a photo with the celebrity. Hilton remarked, “All the Filipino women are so gorgeous. Everyone's so exotic and fabulous. I love it." Party with the Pacquiaos Since arriving Sunday evening, the heiress has been living anything but the simple life, shuttling from one business engagement to another. On Monday, Hilton joined a shoot for a beach club she is designing in collaboration with a local real estate development group. Despite her numerous commitments in the Philippines, however, Hilton made time on Tuesday evening to attend a dinner party hosted by Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee.
From Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning, the statuesque former reality star posted photos of her and the Pacquiaos on her Twitter account. “Love this pic from tonight of me with Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao. What an amazing couple they are! Love them! :)" Hilton tweeted, accompanied with a photo on her official website. After posting several photos of her and the Pacquiaos, “Paris Hilton" became a Twitter trending topic in the Philippines Wednesday morning. Hilton will be in Manila until Thursday. - YA, GMA News
