2 suspected robbers killed in QC predawn encounter
Two suspected robbers were killed in a predawn encounter with police in Quezon City Saturday, moments after allegedly trying to rob a taxi driver of his earnings. Police said the two tried to shoot it out when the taxi they were commandeering was intercepted in the cityâs Tandang Sora area, radio dzBBâs Paulo Santos reported. An investigation showed the incident occurred around 3 a.m., with the taxi being intercepted at the corner of Apollo and Mercury Streets. Recovered from the suspects, who were not immediately identified were cal-.38 revolvers. Edwin Morales, the driver of the âR&E" taxi, said the suspects flagged down his taxi along Commonwealth Avenue across the Sandiganbayan, and asked to be taken to Project 4.
