NDRRMC: 13-year-old hit by lightning in Mindoro

A 13-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital in Mindoro Occidental after being hit by lightning during a thunderstorm last late week. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) identified the boy as Lorenzo Ambay, 13, of Cansaliw village in Calintaan town. In a belated report posted on its website Sunday, the NDRRMC said the victim "experienced vomiting and was rushed to the hospital." NDRRMC's report did not indicate if the boy was already safe. Meanwhile, it said southern Luzon has been experiencing continuous heavy rain since Thursday, adding that a landslide in Balanacan village in Mogpog town in Marinduque rendered the Km 13 road area impassable to vehicles. The Department of Public Works and Highways is still clearing the road of debris, the NDRRMC said. — LBG, GMA News
