Cop, civilian wounded in Makati shooting incident

A policeman and a civilian were shot and wounded in an ambush near the policeman’s house in Pembo in Makati City before dawn Wednesday. Police are now looking for at least three armed men behind the ambush, who fled after the policeman managed to fire back, radio dzBB’s Sam Nielsen reported. The policeman, initially identified as PO2 Mark Telly Delasa (identified in a police report only as Mark Telly), 30, was wounded in the hand and foot while his companion Joan Villorente was hit in the chest and cheek. The incident occurred at about 3 a.m., when Telly and Villorente were returning from a party.

An initial investigation showed Villorente saw one of the three men near the police officer's house and asked him why they were there. She said the man told her he was waiting for his companions. Suddenly the two other gunmen showed up and opened fire. Mark Telly managed to fire back, and the suspects fled. The victims were brought to Ospital ng Makati for treatment. — RSJ, GMA News
