Car seller unable to recognize Mangudadatu slay try suspect
The manhunt is on for a certain “Jay-R Reyes" who is believed to be the person who bought the Kia Avella that exploded along the national highway in Sultan Kudarat, in an alleged attempt to kill Maguindanao Governor Esmael “Toto" Mangudadatu. According to a report from GMA News TV’s “State of the Nation," the seller of the Kia Avella was unable to identify photos of the suspect that were taken from the cellphone of another suspect, Datu Karim Masdal, who is already in police custody. "Continuous pa rin ang ating investigation [para] ma-identify natin kung fictitious man yung Jay-R Reyes at tsaka ‘yung location niya," said Police Superintendent Pedro Austria, Jr., Task Force Ego Chief.

The Philippine National Police has already called on the official who signed the MO but he denied signing it, alleging that it was a fake document. On Monday last week, a car bomb believed to be targeting the convoy of Mangudadatu exploded in Sultan Kudarat, killing two and wounding seven others. In the same “State of the Nation" report, Mangudadatu said that he has no plans to meddle with the investigation and that his camp will be pressing charges against Masdal, adding that he believes the bombing incident last week will not be the last of its kind. "Nang dumaan kami diyan syempre nakakapanindig-balahibo. Tuloy-tuloy ang attempts sa buhay ko, eh. Hindi natin masabing last attempt ito," said Mangudadatu. — BC/ELR/VS, GMA News
