Lone winner from Luzon hits P142.86-M Grand Lotto jackpot

A lone winner from Luzon became more than P142 million richer after hitting the Grand Lotto jackpot of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Wednesday night. The PCSO said the winner got the combination of 09-01-06-40-16-35 to bag the P142,859,048.40 jackpot being offered. But as in the past, the PCSO is not expected to reveal the identity of the winner for security reasons, although a report on dzBB radio early Thursday described the winner as being from Luzon. Wednesday night's jackpot was the biggest since July 26, when a lone winner got the P106.844-million jackpot in the Superlotto 6/49 draw. In the July 26 draw, the winner got the winning combination of 39-42-38-07-10-12 to win the P106,844,122.80 jackpot. Last June 29, a lone winner got the winning combination of 03-18-30-40-06-29 to win the P65,188,047.60 pot. But the biggest lotto prize in recent history was still in November 2010, when a lucky lone bettor from Luzon won some P741.176 million for getting the winning combination: 11-16-42-47-31-37. — RSJ, GMA News
