Over 3,000 people join Pinoy food fest in Sydney

More than 3,000 people in Australia joined the recent Philippine Food Festival at the Grace Brasserie, Grace Hotel in Sydney, Australia from August 5 to 21, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. "According to Grace hotel, this year's event is the most successful thus far, with over 3,110 patrons who tried the array of Filipino dishes and desserts," the DFA said in a news release. The organizers had three chefs from Philippine-based restaurant-caterer Via Mare flown in to Sydney courtesy of flag carrier Philippine Airlines for the event, the DFA added. The event was jointly organized by Grace Hotel and the Department of Tourism and PAL offices in Sydney, as well as Via Mare. The DFA quoted Philippine tourism representative Consuelo Jones as saying it was the seventh year she has worked with PAL and Grace Hotel on the food festival. "With its resounding success, Grace Hotel and its patrons are already looking forward to next year's Philippine Food Festival," the DFA said. - VVP, GMA News
