Pinoy, boyfriend jailed for attempted sex near UAE mall

A 28-year-old Filipino and his 24-year-old Pakistani boyfriend were each sentenced to one month in jail for attempting to have sex in a car near a mall in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gulf News reported on Tuesday. Even though the two men, both salesmen, denied the charge and pleaded not guilty, the Dubai Misdemeanour Court sentenced them to one month in jail. Both men will also be deported after serving their sentences. According to the Gulf News report, the police caught the two men getting ready to have sex in the back seat of a car. However, the report said the two men claimed that they were innocent and that the charges against them were groundless. The report quoted the Pakistani as saying during questioning, ""I met him a year ago. We became friends and things never went beyond friendship since we first met." "One April evening, we agreed to go out for dinner. I drove to his house. A police patrol stopped me while I waited under C.K.'s (the Filipino's) building," the Pakistani said. Citing court records, Gulf News said a police patrol spotted the Pakistani waiting in his vehicle near the mall. When a policeman questioned him, the Pakistani reportedly said he was waiting for a friend. The Pakistani claimed that while he was presenting his personal identification card to the policeman, the Filipino arrived. According to the Gulf News report, the police reportedly took the two men to the police station for questioning. The report said the Pakistani claimed that the police promised to let him go if he confessed that he had consensual sex with the Filipino. - VVP, GMA News
