MMDA: Floods in some parts of Metro Manila slow traffic down

Floods from heavy rain in some parts of the National Capital Region slowed traffic down at noon Wednesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said. But MMDA's Ed Garcia said in an interview on dzBB radio the floods were "half-tire" deep and the flooded areas were still passable. "Passable (They are passable, the floods reached half-tire. But naman, half-tire... ang problema iniiwasan ng maliit na sasakyansmaller vehicles tend to avoid the flooded areas)," he said. Citing information reaching the MMDA's Metro Base, he said the flooded areas included the Dagat-Dagatan area in Northern Metro Manila and MacArthur in Valenzuela City. Heavy rain fell on parts of Metro Manila Wednesday morning. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the rain was due to the "active" monsoon. — LBG, GMA News
