Microsoft updates Windows Phone 7 connector for Mac
Microsoft has released an updated version of its Windows Phone 7 connector that can sync a phone running its Windows Phone 7 OS with Apple Inc.'s Mac OS X. The Windows Phone 7 connector can also sync Macs with the Zune HD, Microsoft's media player, according to Microsoft Corp. "You can also sync photos and videos you captured on your phone with your Mac, and when needed, update your Windows Phone 7 software," it said in a description of the tool on Apple's App Store. It said the Windows Phone 7 Connector allows a user to:
- Sync media from an iTunes or iPhoto library
- Retrieve photos and videos, taken on your Windows Phone, and automatically import them into your existing iPhoto library.
- Browse and preview media items located on your devices.
- Download and install operating system updates for your Windows Phone.
- Full sync and import support for Apple Aperture software
- Drag and drop import of files from Browse Device
- Ringtone transfer support (for phones running Windows Phone 7.5 or later)
- Improved video conversion process with user configuration options
- Support for Windows Phone Marketplace (for phones running Windows Phone 7.5 or later)
- Localization support for 13 additional languages
