Two more suspected Anonymous, LulzSec hackers arrested

Two more hackers linnked to hacktivist-hacker groups Anonymous and Lulz Security were arrested in the United Kingdom Thursday over a series of international online attacks. Officers from the UK Metropolitan Police Service's Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU) described the two as aged 20 and 24, The Hacker News reported. Authorities arrested the two separately in Mexborough, Doncaster, South Yorkshire and Warminster, Wiltshire, The Hacker News report said. Police seized computer equipment from the Doncaster address for forensic examination. It quoted Detective Inspector Mark Raymond from the PCeU as saying the arrests are connected with "a series of serious computer intrusions and online denial-of-service attacks recently suffered by a number of multi-national companies, public institutions and government and law enforcement agencies in Great Britain and the United States." "We are working to detect and bring before the courts those responsible for these offences, to disrupt such groups, and to deter others thinking of participating in this type of criminal activity," Raymond added. A blog entry by computer security firm Sophos cited online speculation the arrests were connected with the activities of a hacker using the handle "Kayla." Kayla, alongside the likes of Sabu, Topiary and Tflow, is considered a key figures in LulzSec. She was linked to the hacking of security firm HBGary. — TJD, GMA News
