USGS: Magnitude-4.7 quake rocks Mindanao

A magnitude-4.7 quake was recorded in the Mindanao area Saturday morning, but there was no initial report of damage or casualty. The United States Geological Survey said the quake was recorded at 8:40 a.m., with a depth of 54 km. It said the epicenter was:

• 11 km west of Hinatuan, Mindanao;
• 99 km southeast of Butuan, Mindanao;
• 158 km north-northeast of Davao, Mindanao;
• 896 km southeast of Manila.
