Aquino to return from China Saturday evening


President Benigno Aquino III is scheduled to arrive Saturday evening in Manila following the last leg of his visit to China, Malacañang said Saturday. Aquino arrived in Xiamen province early Saturday to attend an economic forum and receive courtesy calls from various officials of Fujian province, government-run dzRB radio reported. “Darating siya mamayang gabi at around 6:30 p.m., at magde-deliver ng arrival statement (He will arrive at about 6:30 p.m. and will deliver an arrival statement)," deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte added in an interview on dzRB. Valte also said the agreements reached during the visit should benefit the Filipino people. “Lahat na agreement, in one way or another, makakatulong sa ating kababayan," she said. The dzRB report said Aquino arrived in Xiamen at about 10 a.m., after leaving Shanghai at 8:30 a.m. For Saturday, the dzRB report said Aquino’s activities include receiving courtesy calls from Fujian and Xiamen officials; and attending the Philippine-Fujian Business Conference. Aquino is also scheduled to visit Hongjian village in Fujian to see the trees planted by his late mother Corazon when she visited China in 1988. — LBG, GMA News
