Some Manila roads closed on Sunday for Alay Lakad - MMDA


Portions of Roxas Boulevard in Manila will be closed starting at 4 a.m. Sunday for the "Alay Lakad para sa Kabataan" event, according to an advisory of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The MMDA said parts of P. Burgos, Ayala and Finance Roads will also be closed. The following road portions will also be closed: - Roxas Boulevard from Anda Circle to President Quirino, north- and southbound - P.Burgos Street from Roxas Boulevard to Lagusnilad, east- and westbound - T.M. Kalaw Street from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue, east- and westbound* Ayala Road corner Finance Road A report on government-run dzRB radio said the Alay Lakad is a yearly fund-raising event seeking to benefit out-of-school youths. It said participants are to converge at the Quirino Grandstand for the event early Sunday. The dzRB report said organizers expect 500,000 to 800,000 to join the event. — ELR, GMA News
