Local IT firm eyes partnership with China's Huawei

Listed technology firm Information Capital Technology Ventures Inc. will explore the possibility of partnering with one of the world's leading technology companies. In a statement to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Monday, ICTV said it entered into a memorandum of understanding with China's Huawei International Pte. Ltd., Huawei Technologies Phils., Inc. and Next Mobile Inc. The signing of the MOU took place at the Philippine-Eastern China Business held at the Shanghai Shangri-La Hotel in China. The forum was held during President Simeon Benigno Aquino III's state visit to China last week. "The parties desire to explore the possibility of entering into a business relationship which will allow each party to provide its respective contribution in order to attain the common purpose of implementing Next Mobile's nationwide build-up plans. The milestone agreement will greatly enhance the information capabilities of the company and Next Mobile in partnership with the world's largest information technology company Huawei," ICTV said. In 2008, ICTV disclosed it signed with Next Mobile, a mobile telephone system operator, and Denmark-based network intelligence specialist REWSS A/S. ICTV said REWSS A/S was tapped to develop network management solutions under the REWSSTools brand for Motorola's iDen technology by using NextMobile's network infrastructure. --CMA/OMG, GMA News
