DOLE: Machinists in high demand locally
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said machinists are in demand in the local labor market. âThere are enough promising job opportunities for Filipino machinists in the manufacturing sector who could get paid from P15,000 to P20,000 a month," Baldoz said in a news release, citing data from the DOLEâs 101 Career Guide. A highly-trained machinist, she said, can earn up to P30,000 locally. She said machinists can find work in these sectors â electricity, gas and water supply, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and transport, storage and communication. Those who are interested to become machinists may take up a 160-hour training course at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), she said.
