MMDA: Early dismissal of students snarls EDSA traffic

The early dismissal of students at two schools in eastern Metro Manila slowed down traffic in the EDSA-Ortigas area, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said Wednesday. In its Twitter account, the MMDA said it had to deploy additional mobile units near La Salle Greenhills and Poveda School to assist traffic enforcers. "Malaki po kasi epekto ng early dismissal nung two schools sa traffic sa EDSA, both approaches. Para po ma-minimize yung effect," it said. Asked why traffic was slow-moving at the EDSA-Ortigas area, the MMDA tweeted, "Early dismissal of Poveda and La Salle Greenhills." The MMDA said classes at the La Salle Greenhills and Poveda were dismissed at 10 a.m. as the two schools always do during students' examination week. — LBG, GMA News
