Social networking giant Facebook has released a major update to its app for devices running Apple Inc.'s iOS operating system. The update includes new features along with tweaks to the interface, according to a description of the app on Apple's App Store. It said that the app, now on version 3.5, packed new features such as:

Facebook said the updated app is a 7-mb download available in English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. It is compatible with Apple Inc.'s iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 3.0 or later. A separate article on tech site CNET said other new features include improved sharing options, tweaking the design of both Profile and Group walls, and added privacy controls on posts that match the settings one makes on the Web site (http://download.cnet.com/8301-2007_4-20102384-12/huge-update-released-for-facebook-ios-app/?tag=cnetRiver).
