PHL Embassy in London: Deal only with licensed consultants

The Philippine Embassy in London advised Filipinos who will renew their visas or change their visa categories because of the "Point Based System" of migration of the United Kingdom (UK) Government, to transact business only with duly licensed immigration consultants or solicitors. The Embassy warned Filipinos against transacting business in clinics, cafes, telephones or mobile phones, electronic mail (e-mail), and other venues where it is not possible to determine the legitimacy of the immigration consultancy being offered. The Embassy has received complaints from Filipinos about their failed dealings with unlicensed immigration consultants and/or solicitors. It suggested that all transactions be made at the offices of licensed immigration consultants or solicitors. When necessary, before making any payment, Filipinos were told ask consultants or solicitors to produce their licenses. - LBG/VVP, GMA News
